Laccaria amethystina

A deep, saturated violet inspired by the amethyst deceiver mushroom, a species in the Laccaria genus. The colour reflects the mushroom’s characteristic purple tones — rich, cool, and unmistakably violet — with depth rather than shine. Notes of amethyst, forest dusk, and dark petals settle into the surface, softened by the yarn’s matte texture.

In Varv, this colour gains additional presence through the yarn’s distinctive structure. The textured twist allows the violet to shift subtly across the surface, revealing quieter tonal variation within the depth of the purple. It is bold without being loud — expressive, grounded, and organic.

Varv is a twist on our nutidenyarn - all is still 100% Swedish wool and Swedish made - but with a twist - a unique twist on spun and unseen yarn mixed into a very special yarn.

Notera/ please note :  

We take great pride in doing things by hand - so all blends will always be unique and will ALWAYS variate. 

Always hand-wash natural wool - always note that we do not use bleach or any other chemicals cleaning wool - therefore it will have natural materials in it - so the first rinse of water can be dirty (tip - use the water to water your plants - they will LOVE it! 

We only use certified pigments, salt and vinegar when dyeing
